Pistoletto ‘Energie' Can
Michelangelo Pistoletto was born in Biella, Italy in 1933. He first became known on the International art scene in the early sixties with his Mirror Paintings. His works have been featured in contemporary art galleries in the United States and Europe, including MoMa and the Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Pompidou Center in Paris, the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rome and the Tate Modern in London.

The Designer
Born in Biella Italy in 1933, Michelangelo Pistoletto rates among the most well-known artists of “Arte Povera”, one of the main artistic movements of the second post-war. He first made a name for himself on the International art scene in the early sixties with his Mirror Paintings. Among his many accomplishments include being awarded the Career Golden Lion at the 50th Biennial of Venice in 2003, in which he participated with “Love Difference” - an “artistic movement for inter-Mediterranean policy”. He also founded the Cittadellarte-Fondazione Pistoletto in Biella. Pistoletto’s works have been displayed at many international shows including the Biennial of Venice, Documenta in Germany, and the Biennial of San Paolo in Brazil.
